Dude, Shave Your Feet

Dude, Shave Your Feet

As a married woman of 25 years, I am often asked to divulge the secret to a long and healthy relationship. I agree with many that communication, understanding your partner’s needs
and being a good helpmate are quintessential to longevity, but I also have to be honest.  The key to a healthy relationship are manicured toes and well groomed feet.  I do not know of any woman that wants to climb in the love rack, snuggle up, and your feet feel like she is in bed with a Hobbit. It becomes imperative to a great relationship to tell your man, “Dude, shave your feet!”

Foot care is very important to the health and well-being of a man.  If he has a job which requires him to wear boots every day, then his feet do not get a great deal of air. The harshness of a pair of steel toe boots can do a great deal of damage to toe nails causing yellowing, chipping and uneven growth. If your feet look rough, then there is a high probability, they will also feel rough. Sliding into bed, feeling the romance fill the room and the space between you can be quickly aborted the moment you run your feet across her calves. The romance factor just went from hello to hell no.

Convincing your man that foot care is important to the romantic health of your relationship can be a touchy subject. In the initial phases of a relationship, you are in love, you appreciate your man, and his feet aren’t that big of a deal.  Fast forward that seven years. You find yourself tired of picking up his underwear, fed up with listening to his Mama, and STILL, he hasn’t taken care of his feet.  Failure to take care of your feet also scares a woman when she realizes that if you won’t take care of your feet, then you probably won’t take good care of your health. I can’t look forward to growing old with you, if I am going to have to be your nurse.

My suggestion, for his birthday or as a ‘just because I love you, Baby’, gift, treat him to a male spa care package.  If that is not in your budget, take him for lunch and a pedicure. Initially, it will be met with some resistance, but you are a woman, stick out your bottom lip, pretend your feelings are hurt that he doesn’t like your surprise and get his crusty footed butt in that chair!

I can almost guarantee you, the next time he comes to bed, and slides those smooth heels and trimmed toe nails across your calves, you are awake and paying attention. Male foot care is about thoughtfulness and attention to the details. Giving your man the gift of foot care, also says you are paying attention to him, and you care about his overall appearance.
